Not true. My wife gave up trying.
RCA has immeasurably damaged its brand with our household. And they’ve made a similar ancillary impact on us for all consumer electronics that promise computer compatibility. They’ll fool you if they can.

/ July 27, 2010The batteries never worked very well. When I had to change the batteries the first time it took a long time for it to work again. The third time after changing the batteries, it doesn’t work and I have to get a new DVR. There is no power cord to plug in either. So, if the batteries can’t get the thing to work, you are SOL.

/ July 27, 2010Bought this recorder to record class lectures. Recorded fine, sound quality was very good. The big problem is that this device has one toggle type button that pretty much has to do everything. You push it up and down to select recordings NO problems with this funtion but when you have to press this same button down and move it from left to right, good luck getting it to rewind or forward.
Seriously, it would take be about five minutes to get the button engaged correctly to get it to go backward. Even when I pushed the same button forward to fastforward the recorder would only rewind! Then when I finally got it to rewind it would be stuck on rewind and It would take me another 5 minutes of fiddling with the button pushing it forward to get the recorder off of rewind and onto forward.
To top it off the recorder lasted only 6 weeks and now I have to buy another. For some reason part of the LCD screen doesn’t show up and I can’t tell what function I’m in and consequently erased all the lectures I had recorded! but yet when i tried to recod today the recorder says that it’s full and can’t record anymore!
Bottom line save your receipt if you buy this model and fill out the registration card so you can return this when it craps out on you.

/ July 27, 2010I bought mine at Walmart for $35.00. It has many amazing functions, clear playback and ease of use. I have yet to download or send files, but so far I am amazed at this little machine! I am an Intuitive Counselor and use it for my clients sessions…and being that I have a pc I doubt I will have any problems sith the functional problems stated in thie other review. If so, I will let you know.

/ July 27, 2010I purchased this product a little while ago with one purpose only, and that was to help me with song ideas. I rarely write reviews, but fealt obligated to get the word out there to other musicians about how amazing this product is!
It is amazing, whenever I have a quick idea that I need to get into tangable form before I end up forgeting it, I reach for this product and record with the click of two buttons (on and record). It seems a little intimadating at first, but once you get the basics down for exactly what you are doing, then you will be proficient with it quite easily.
Another awesome feature is the direct USB connectivty. I will admit that I thought it was wierd and stupid looking, but this actually comes to be very handy to just pop right into your PC to work on ideas later, which makes a little better to store and catalog since let me tell you, this thing has so much memory for this purpose that it could get a little overwealming with all the ideas that you could save with so many different song numbers and not actual titles. That might be something I wish it could do, but who knows, there are enough features maybe you can do that, and I just don’t know how. Like I said before, I just read the directions once to know what I wanted to do with it, and never went back to it since it’s pretty eash to use.
But again, you are able to transfer the sound samples directly onto your pc with a few diferrent formats, and I’ve even brought the recorder directly to band practice to record rough ideas, and although you wont get any label attention with the sound quailty, it is more than enough to solidfy ideas. It’s small enough to take anywhere too.
Since I bought this product I have written several songs, and found it to be the most valuable weapon in my songwrigting aresenal. I can’t picture my self living without it, and might purchase another down the road just to have a back up so that I could have one in every section of the house, or at work so when ideas strike, I have my trusty recorder right by my side!
Truthfully, this product is AMAZING and I highly reccomend it!
