/ July 29, 2010I received the recorder, put the battery in, and it will not turn off, either by the switch or automatically after 10 minutes, as advertised.
I called Sony’s PITIFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. They do not even have a toll-free number. I talked to a guy I could barely understand. If I return it to Sony, I have to pay for shipping. I plan for a long life and will never buy another Sony product.
I bought it through Icon Electronics and have emailed them to see what they will do. I will update once this is resolved.
I stand by my comments about sony’s “customer service”. On the other hand, Jeff at Icon Electronics responded promptly and called me personally. He was very knowledgeable about the product and took care of the problem without a fuss. I will buy from him whenever I get a chance and encourage you to, as well.

/ July 29, 2010I bought this voice recorder back in January and in less than a month it stopped working. I returned it back to the store and replaced it with the same model. The new one lasted only three months. I called up Sony and they told me that I have to send them the damaged one before I get another one. On top of all that, I had to pay for shipping to send it back to them. They told me that it would take 7-10 days before I get the replacement. What bad service. What a terrible voice recorder. The only redeeming quality about this voice recorder was the sound quality. Otherwise I would not recommend this voice recorder. It’s not worth all the trouble, not to mention the time I would be out a voice recorder.

/ July 29, 2010the sound quality is excellent. it is very easy to use. i only wish the transport controls made it a little easier to skip to the next song. other than that, it’s near perfect. battery life is decent as well.
